What We Collect
- Generated study materials: Slides, quizzes, quick references, and glossaries created from your uploads.
- Chat messages: Conversations with the Prep Tutor feature.
- Course metadata: Course names and exam names you provide.
Accounts and Uploaded Files
- Original uploaded files: We store uploaded files and extracted text to operate the Service, alongside your generated study materials.
- Personal information: A Google account is required. We use your account identifier, email, and profile information for sign-in and account management. We also store study activity and preferences, and connection credentials when you enable integrations.
How We Use Your Data
- To generate and display your study materials
- To provide the AI tutor chat feature
- To improve the Service
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate PrepDeck:
- Anthropic (Claude AI): Processes your materials to generate study content. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase: Stores generated study materials. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe: Processes payments and subscriptions. We store payment customer identifiers and plan status.
- Sentry: Receives application error diagnostics.
- Resend: Delivers enabled email reminders.
- Vercel: Hosts the application. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Generated study materials are retained indefinitely to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.
Canvas Access (Privacy-First)
PrepDeck connects to Canvas using read-only, least-privileged access. We only request and store course materials needed to generate study decks — such as assignments, modules, files, pages, and announcements.
We do not access or store:
- Grades
- Submissions
- Rosters or other student data
- Messages
- Your Canvas profile (name/email)
Any user information returned by Canvas is ignored and not stored.
